Quinton Business Park is a multi-let scheme 5 miles outside of the city centre. EPD carried out a common parts refurbishment of Building 4 including a total redesign of the 3-storey atrium reception, break out spaces plus male & female WC’s and showers.

We completely reimagined the space by stripping out all existing facilities and finishes and starting from scratch.

The dominant feature of the reception area was an industrial, white metal staircase stretching the full height of the atrium. Rather than trying to distract from it, we enhanced its impact by respraying it black to create a dramatic & graphic centre piece. This inspired an industrial design scheme, packed full of textures, colours and materials.

We removed an awkward security gate on the ground floor, opening up the flow of the entrance with the design of an industrial, patinated steel reception desk and matching steel and leather bench seating area, making use of the dead space under the stairs. A tiered lighting feature handmade in bone china creates a stunning focal point in the atrium, emitting a warm glow as people travel up the building.

On each level, the lifts are surrounded by a wood grain patterned, herringbone wall tile which not only adds texture but a dramatic dose of colour in the teal, pink and natural wood tones.  This vibrant colour palette and industrial design throughout is harmonised with extensive tropical planting to soften the space and enhance the feeling of wellbeing as people move around the building.

The male and female facilities were stripped out & remodelled to a high standard creating a sophisticated, calm and tactile environment.  We installed floor tiles in a grey concrete, chevron pattern, with high gloss wall tiles in two tones behind the basins and inside the cubicles which reflected the light, adding depth and sense of luxury.  A warm wood veneer applied to the cubicles, leather detailing on the mirrors, black hardware and planting all contribute to setting the building facilities apart from the average office.

Building 4 has been completely transformed from a dated, poorly configured asset and relaunched as a standout property within Quinton Business Park.
