Project Overview
In collaboration with our client CC Land, we revitalised the reception area and bathrooms at 1 Kingdom Street, preserving key architectural features whilst introducing thoughtful FF&E design interventions. The goal was to enhance functionality and aesthetics without a complete overhaul, thus adhering to our principles of minimising waste and maximising client value. The result is a sophisticated, layered environment that blends modern elegance with timeless design.

Design Approach
Our design approach focused on redefining the reception, cafe, seating areas and atrium whilst celebrating the vast, almost triple-height ceiling.

Key Features

  • Earth-Toned Palette: A harmonious blend of finishes in earth tones, guides visitors intuitively through the space.
  • Reception & Café Design: The reception desk and café counter boast unique finishes that aid in wayfinding and add visual interest. The standout feature, a multi-coloured marble floor, draws attention to the reception area.
  • Bespoke Joinery: Custom open bookshelves subtly delineate spaces, ensuring privacy without obstructing sightlines.
  • Biophilic Elements: Large indoor trees and a green wood-panelled wall emphasise the natural aesthetic, softening the space and connecting it to nature.
  • Lighting & Furniture: Low-level lighting creates a soothing atmosphere, while sculptural furniture pieces, reminiscent of a boutique hotel lobby, elevate the experience.
  • Atrium Design: Overhead atrium frames were sprayed rust red to energise and better define the break out spaces. All existing banquette seating was reupholstered in the new earth toned palette and all furniture replaced with contemporary styles.

Bathroom Enhancements

The bathrooms were updated with terracotta and peach tiles, fluted walnut cabinetry, and dark green cubicle doors, complemented by brass fixtures and ambient lighting. This cohesive design offers a luxurious, hotel-like feel.
